Clara Parkes Book Tour
October 16 @ 6:00 pm - 8:45 pm
Clara Parkes of Knitter’s Review has written a new book, The Yarn Whisperer: My Unexpected Life in Knitting, and she’s bringing it to Chicago!
About the Tour (from her website):
Join me this October for the very first Yarn Whisperer tour! I’ll talk about my latest yarn adventures, read from the book, answer your questions, and I’ll give away a few prizes.
Local bookstore The Book Cellar will have copies of the book available for purchase at the reading. Clara says, “This tour honors the noble (and hopefully not vanishing) institution of bookstores. For that reason, I humbly ask that all books at the signing be purchased from the fine bookstore hosting that night’s event. Their business is the selling of books, not just hosting events, and we want bookstores to thrive. Even if you pre-ordered a copy from elsewhere (and thank you, if you have), I suspect you might still have a friend or loved one (or several dozen) who would like signed copies?”
About the Book:
The book was born from a simple notion: We are what we knit. I’m not suggesting you’re a pullover or a pair of socks. But over the years I’ve realized just how deeply knitting itself—our stitches, materials, techniques—is a metaphor for who we are and the lives we live.
