This course is intended for intermediate knitters, prior experience with cables is highly encouraged. The course will focus on cabling without a cable needle and traditional steeking techniques (cutting knitted fabric). We will also discuss tips and considerations for planning and designing cabled projects, including swatching, blocking and gauge as they uniquely apply to cabled fabrics. Participants should be comfortable understanding simple cabling techniques. We will spend the last portion of the course working a crocheted steek together – the instructor will demonstrate and students will be able to try steeking (cutting) their own swatches.
